In a brief statement shared through the official NBA 2K27 social media profiles, the community was informed that the first wave of bans has arrived and has affected the accounts of cheaters.
It was also announced that additional waves of bans are expected over the coming days, targeting the accounts of cheaters who have not yet been identified.
In August, Take-Two had promised that it would take action against cheaters in NBA 2K27. That action began today, with bans being applied retroactively from the first day.
“We have issued the first wave of permanent bans against accounts using cheats and scripts to gain an advantage through shooting assistance systems and other forms of input manipulation,” reads the statement shared a few hours ago.
This behavior violates the Player Code of Conduct and negatively impacts the gaming experience for everyone who competes fairly.
Any account that, since the Early Access period on August 26, 2026, has been identified and proven to have used these methods to cheat is subject to a permanent account ban. Repeated cheating may also result in a console/PC ban.
This first wave covers accounts that have been carefully analyzed up to today, but the enforcement effort will not stop here: these waves of bans will also become a regular practice in the future. The detection system is continuously improving, with new features already in development.
The publisher has confirmed that it will continue to monitor and block accounts that use cheats and, as cheating methods evolve, the detection systems will evolve as well.
