The Barcelona manager spoke to the media before his team’s away match against Galatasaray in Turkey. He talked about the upcoming game, shared his thoughts on Gabriel Jesus and explained why his players are still eager to win.
When asked about Real Madrid, Flick did not want to comment on the other Spanish club. Instead, he reminded everyone that Barcelona’s next game is against Galatasaray. “We’re about to play against Galatasaray. So, respect Galatasaray,” he said.
Flick also spoke about Galatasaray’s stadium and their fans, who are known for creating a great atmosphere during home games. “They have a fantastic stadium, an incredible atmosphere… respect them,” he said.
The Barcelona coach also had good things to say about Gabriel Jesus. He described the forward as a pleasant surprise and praised both his ability and his attitude. “He is a fantastic player with a first-class attitude,” Flick said.
He also confirmed that Gabriel Jesus is ready to play and made it clear that the club are happy with him. “He is ready to play. We are very happy with him,” Flick added.
Another topic was the team’s desire to keep winning. Flick explained that he shares this feeling with his players. He also said the coaching staff wanted to check whether the players who had won the World Cup still had the same desire to compete and achieve more.
“We are hungry. I share it with the team. Many of our players won the World Cup, and we wanted to see if they still had that hunger,” he said.
Flick confirmed that the answer was yes, and that his players still want to win despite what they have already achieved. “And yes, they do,” he concluded.
