Multiplayer Program 8 goes live today in MLB The Show 26, with the new program becoming available at around noon PT. Players can compete in multiplayer games to progress through the program and earn a selection of featured player items.
The new program includes five different player rewards, featuring cards representing players from different eras and with different types of historical significance.
The featured rewards are Hall of Fame Fred McGriff, Milestone Bernie Williams, Awards Rollie Fingers, Negro Leagues Peanut Johnson, and Negro Leagues Pop Lloyd.
The first featured reward is Fred McGriff, whose card is part of the Hall of Fame series. McGriff is shown as a first baseman, and his card carries a 99 overall rating. The card design also highlights his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Another reward is Bernie Williams, represented by a Milestone card. The card highlights his 1998 season and displays a .339 batting average, while also showing him in a New York Yankees uniform. Like the other featured cards shown in the announcement, Williams’ item has a 99 overall rating.
The program also features Rollie Fingers through an Awards card. The former pitcher is shown wearing a Milwaukee Brewers uniform, with the card identifying him as a closing pitcher. His featured item is also rated 99 overall.
Two of the rewards represent players from the Negro Leagues. The first is Peanut Johnson, whose card identifies him as a pitcher/infield. His illustrated card also carries a 99 overall rating and uses a different visual style from the McGriff, Williams, and Fingers cards.
The other Negro Leagues reward is Pop Lloyd, who is represented as an infielder. His card features an illustrated design and, like the other rewards included in Multiplayer Program 8, displays a 99 overall rating.
The five featured cards therefore cover a variety of player types and card series, with Hall of Fame Fred McGriff, Milestone Bernie Williams, Awards Rollie Fingers, Negro Leagues Peanut Johnson, and Negro Leagues Pop Lloyd all included in the new program.
Multiplayer Program 8 is available starting today at approximately noon PT in MLB The Show 26. Players can get their squads ready, compete in multiplayer, and work toward earning all five of these featured player rewards.
