The Retro Championship Series Program is coming to MLB The Show 26 this October. The program includes four 99 OVR rewards that players can earn.

The Show Classics cards are Jhonkensy Noel and Zack Britton, both rated 99 OVR. Noel’s card features his game-tying home run in Game 3 of the ALCS, while Britton’s card highlights his performance in the 2019 postseason, when he gave up just one hit to 23 batters faced in the ALCS.

The other two rewards are part of the Awards series. These are Vladimir Guerrero Jr., with his 2025 ALCS Most Valuable Player card, and Justin Verlander, with his 2017 ALCS Most Valuable Player card. Both cards have a 99 OVR rating.

The Retro Championship Series Program goes live today around noon PT, giving players the chance to earn all four cards in MLB The Show 26.

Player Overall Team
Jhonkensy Noel 99 Cleveland Guardians
Zack Britton 99 New York Yankees
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 99 Toronto Blue Jays
Justin Verlander 99 Houston Astros

If you like baseball, MLB The Show 26 gives you quite a few things to do. You can play with MLB teams, use your favorite players or create your own player and try to make it to the top. There isn’t just one way to play, and that’s probably one of the best things about the game. Some people will spend most of their time playing matches, while others will prefer building a team or working on a player’s career.

Playing baseball is not just about hitting the ball as hard as you can. Pitching matters a lot too, and you need to get the timing right if you want to have a chance of winning. MLB The Show 26 adds Bear Down Pitching, which gives you more control over important pitches, and Big Zone Hitting, which gives you more control when you’re at bat. It can take a while to get comfortable with these mechanics, especially if you’re new to the series.

Road to the Show is probably the mode to look at if you want to have a career of your own. You create a player and try to work your way up to the Major Leagues, improving your skills as you go. The game also includes more college teams and the NCAA Men’s College World Series, so there’s more to do at the college level before moving on to professional baseball. Of course, getting there takes time, and you’ll need to keep working on your player if you want to make progress.

Franchise mode is a different story. Here, you’re responsible for the team rather than just one player. You can make trades, change your lineup and decide which players you want to keep around. It’s a mode for people who enjoy making these kinds of decisions, even when things don’t go as planned. You can also take control during key moments of simulated games, instead of having to play every single inning yourself.

Diamond Dynasty is all about collecting player cards and putting together a team. You can unlock new players, complete challenges and play different events to earn rewards. The World Baseball Classic also brings its own content to the game, including themed cards and events. There’s always the option to change your lineup and try different players, which makes sense if you enjoy building a team rather than sticking with the same squad.
