In a press release distributed through the official social media channels, Electronic Arts announced the name of the player who will appear on the Ultimate Edition of the new football simulator EA FC 27. Below, we report the full press release issued by the Canadian software company.
Today, Electronic Arts announced that global superstar Kylian Mbappé will be the cover star of the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 27.
The French phenomenon returns to the franchise cover for the first time in four years, making his debut as the cover star of EA Sports FC. Mbappé will also be the new cover athlete of EA Sports FC Mobile.
“Being the cover star of an EA SPORTS FC title for the first time is a really special moment for me,” said Kylian Mbappé. “It is an honour to continue my long-standing relationship with the franchise in this new chapter, alongside the players who have shaped its history. I can’t wait for everyone to experience FC 27.”

Since his move to Real Madrid in 2024, Mbappé has performed at his best, demonstrating his value at the highest levels of football. He was the top scorer in LaLiga EA Sports in each of his two seasons in Spain, and won the Golden Boot in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 after scoring 15 goals in the competition.
He has maintained this momentum at international level with a series of outstanding performances for the national team during the summer, further cementing his place among the world’s elite and earning the EA Sports FC 27 cover.
The reveal of Kylian Mbappé as the cover star kicks off a week packed with announcements dedicated to EA Sports FC 27, including the release of the gameplay trailer on YouTube, which will go live on Thursday, July 23 at 6:00 PM Italian time.
We remind you that the Ones To Watch promo continues this week. One of the biggest seasons of the popular Football Ultimate Team mode in EA FC 27 begins with the special Ones To Watch card promo.
Season 1 of FC 27 Ultimate Team celebrates the biggest signings of the transfer window with dynamic Ones To Watch player items, which can improve throughout the season based on the performances of male and female players at their new Clubs.
Ones To Watch items will be upgraded when the player receives a performance-based special item, such as Team of the Week, Player Of The Month or Star Performer, and if their team wins 3 of their next 6 league matches starting Friday, September 18. All Ones To Watch items start with a minimum rating of 83 OVR.
