Season 5 of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC kicks off today with the launch of Phase 1 (Siege of Las Vegas), introducing two new maps (Vegas Strip and Area 51), an intense and fast-paced take on Battle Royale, and the upcoming arrival of a limited-time Dead Space-themed event.
The first of the two new maps brings chaos to the Strip, turning this iconic location into an exciting battlefield. The second map takes the conflict away from the city’s neon lights and into the perimeter of the secretive Area 51.
Phase 1 also introduces a brand-new way to play REDSEC with Rapid Royale, a fast-paced, condensed version of Battlefield’s Battle Royale mode, featuring shorter matches and fewer players.
In Rapid Royale, the objective remains the same: survive until the end. Eliminating enemies earns you redeployment tokens that allow you to return to the fight. However, as the match progresses, the number of kills required to earn these tokens will increase.
From October 20 to November 7, a limited-time event will also be available, featuring elements that will feel very familiar to Dead Space fans. This special event pays tribute to Dead Space and includes environments inspired by the 2023 remake, along with unique cosmetic items to unlock.
Season 5 Phases
PHASE 1: Siege of Las Vegas – October 13th
- Vegas Strip: A large scale combat space set on the iconic Las Vegas strip, transforming this iconic spot to an enthralling battleground.
- Area 51: An All-Out Warfare focused map set in the secretive government facility in the Nevada desert.
- Rapid Royale: Rapid Royale injects REDSEC with fast paced, smaller scale and high intensity combat set on Vegas Strip or Mirak Valley.
- Battlefield x Dead Space: A limited-time crossover fit for the Halloween season, running from October 20 to November 7. This special event is a celebration of everything Dead Space and includes Area 51 spaces inspired by the 2023 remake, the Marker Incursion LTM, as well as unique cosmetics for players to unlock.
PHASE 2: Casino Heist – November 10th
- European Casino: European Casino is one of the grandest casinos on the strip and deep within its vaults are gold coveted by both PAX and NATO. You and the rest of your squad will have to take out the other team to earn a glorious payday in this close-quarters combat-focused map filled with slot machines, dice tables, glitzy fountains, and destruction opportunities to open more pathways and tactical options.
- Casino Heist: A Limited Time Collection Event.
PHASE 3: Frozen Aces – December 8th
- Operation High Roller: a new Operation is unfolding across both the Vegas Strip and Area 51 as NATO and PAX engage in an epic struggle to shift the global power balance.
- Platoons: The launch version will let players create social groups of up to 100 people. Platoons will have their own name and tag and members will receive XP benefits for playing with one another. Platoons will be a feature we evolve over time based on player feedback.
- Server Browser: This iteration will give players greater visibility into available servers and more choice over what they play. Official Battlefield Studios and Player-Hosted servers will be available within the browser and players will have the ability to create persistent servers and set map rotation.
- Freezeout: A winter chill is falling over coming for the Vegas Strip just in time for the holidays.
