The Title Update 3 for NHL 27 has been announced. The third corrective patch will be available for download starting Tuesday, October 20, on PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
This update introduces several Gameplay changes. In this specific case, these are adjustments aimed at improving game balance. Goalie effectiveness has been improved, while stamina has been reduced for teams that rely heavily on pressing.
In addition, fixes have been implemented for some of the main game modes available in NHL 27, focusing primarily on improving the gameโs stability.
With this patch, the graphics of many arenas and the uniforms of a considerable number of teams from all leagues included in the official roster have also been updated.
At the same time, it was announced that maintenance will take place shortly before the update is released, from 1:00 PM ET to 10:00 AM PT, and server instability may occur for approximately one hour after the release. Below, we report the complete Title Update 3 patch notes released by the Canadian developer.
Gameplay Improvements
Goalie Behavior
Weโve heard your feedback on goalie behavior, including concerns around the effectiveness of stride-deke goals and the outcomes of certain goalie saves. Update 3 includes several adjustments and fixes to address these situations.
- Stride-deke goals: Weโve improved goalie logic to reduce the success rate of the stride-deke goal that the community identified.
- Redirect saves: Fixed an issue where the puck could lose too much velocity or fail to travel as intended, resulting in unrealistic rebounds.
- Stick redirects: Fixed an issue where stick redirects did not launch the puck with the intended outgoing velocity.
- Save Accuracy Tuning: Goalies are now less accurate when forced to make high-reach or fully extended saves, placing a higher premium on defensemen limiting high-danger angles and second-chance rebounds.
Weโll continue to listen to your feedback and evaluate opportunities to improve goalie consistency further.
Line Changes
Weโve addressed several issues that could prevent the requested line from taking the ice or cause unintended players to enter the game.
Update 3 includes the following improvements:
- More reliable line changes: Fixed several cases where mixed lines could be sent onto the ice unexpectedly.
- Improved line cycling: Fixed an issue where cycling through lines would not always send out the requested line.
- More conservative fatigue logic: Adjusted the logic when fatigued players consider it safe to change lines.
- HUT automatic line changes: Fixed an issue where incorrect players could enter the ice following automatic line changes.
Our goal is to make sure line changes behave consistently with your intended lineup. Weโll continue monitoring feedback in this area as players get more time with the update.
AI Improvements
Shot Selection Adjustments: Reduced the frequency with which Superstar AI players opted for slap shots in lower-percentage situations, promoting more realistic and varied offensive playmaking.
Pressure System
Faster Zone Decay: The Pressure Meter now decays more quickly when the puck is cleared out of the offensive zone, giving defending teams a better reward for successful zone exits.
Tuned Fatigue Impact: Reduced the fatigue penalty multiplier while under pressure, allowing defending players to maintain better responsiveness and competitiveness during extended zone time.
Stamina & Energy
Penalty Kill Recovery Realignment: Adjusted energy recovery rates for Penalty Kill units to match even-strength recovery rates, standardizing endurance across all game situations.ย
