A spooky challenge is coming to NHL 27 HUT with the arrival of Fright Night on October 23, 2026, at 5 PM ET. Running for two weeks, this Halloween event puts your puzzle-solving skills to the test.
Your goal is to gather hidden keys, figure out the answers to a series of riddles, and uncover the identity of the Phantom.
There are several ways to collect Crypt Keys, including playing Wildcard and completing Moments and Objectives. Once you have a key, you can use it to try one of the available answers.
Getting a riddle right earns you a Phantom Coin, and you’ll need to gather all the required coins from both weeks to gain access to the Phantom.
However, solving the riddles is only part of the challenge. You’ll also have to obtain every Featured Fright Night Player released during the event’s two weeks.
Doing so will provide the tokens needed to complete the final Phantom Set. Make sure you don’t miss any of the available content if you want to unlock the mysterious player.
How To Collect Phantom Coins
Choose your answer through the dedicated sets. Every possible solution to a riddle has its own set, which you can complete to submit your guess.
Exchange a Crypt Key to receive a pack. Each answer set requires a Crypt Key to obtain its associated pack.
You can earn these keys by taking part in Wildcard and completing Event Objectives and Event Moments. There are 3 Crypt Keys available per week.
Get the answer right to claim a Phantom Coin. Each riddle has a specific coin as its reward. For instance, solving the first riddle correctly earns you the Ancient Skate Coin.
Get the answer wrong and you’ll receive a Dead Coin instead. You can exchange Dead Coins through the dedicated Dead Coin set to obtain a new Crypt Key. If you have no Crypt Keys left, you can still craft one using Player Items through the separate Crypt Key set.
How To Get Phantom Upgrade Tokens
- Every Featured Fright Night Player comes with a dedicated set that rewards a Phantom Upgrade Token.
- By exchanging the corresponding Fright Night Player Item, you’ll receive a BND Choice Pack featuring every Featured Fright Night Player released during that same week, as well as a Phantom Upgrade Token.
- Tokens are tied to the week in which their associated Featured Fright Night Player becomes available. You must participate in both weeks of the event to obtain the items needed to unlock the Phantom.
